Throughout my career as a clinical social worker, I have worked closely with families in some of their most difficult moments—both in local emergency rooms and in longer-term hospital settings. In these environments, decisions about care are often made under pressure, with little time, limited information, and high emotional stress. Time and again, I saw families trying to navigate complex care options, financial considerations, and legal decisions all at once—often feeling overwhelmed, unprepared, and unsure of where to turn or what to do first.

While I was able to guide families through these situations in the moment, I recognized a larger gap: most people are not given the opportunity to understand their options before a crisis occurs. Too often, important decisions are reactive rather than planned. I founded Chesapeake Crossing Senior Care Advisors to help families change that.

I also understand what it is like to be on the family side of this equation.  I have walked this path with my own family while they cared for my grandparents in their elder years. I experienced first hand how emotionally challenging and complicated these decisions can be when working with your own family. I also witnessed the powerful impact of having a knowledgeable, objective third party involved. When emotions run high, families can sometimes feel stuck or struggle to hear one another clearly. Having someone who can provide guidance, clarity, and a steady voice can make all the difference in moving forward in a way that honors everyone involved.

​I founded Chesapeake Crossing Senior Care Advisors to change this experience for other families. My goal is to provide education, guidance, and support families need before a crisis hits—so they can feel empowered, prepared, and confident in the decisions they make for themselves and their loved ones.
